Hi there and welcome to my site!
My name is Laura Mc Ilrath. I live in Oudtshoorn, western Cape, South Africa and along with my husband I run a 37 hectare farm with 59 animals (2 puppies, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 1 rabbit, 16 sheep, 1 angora goat, 3 miniature pot bellied pigs, 23 horses and 8 donkeys).
All of the animals we have were either abused, abandoned or just in need of a loving new home. We call ourselves: Ikkos Equine Sanctuary and Animal Haven Petting Farm.

We offer anything from horse riding tuition, Equine therapy, horse trails, animal adoption schemes, horse and pony livery, working holidays/work experience, weekend breaks and a unique merchandise and gift range, to great days out for the whole family at our petting farm!

*24th October 2009 - Isis gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy.
*17th October 2009-To celebrate the birth of our new baby donkey we have special offers on all of our herbal supplements - all prices reduced - under horse/animal products and supplies!
*17th October 2009-Atrum our baby male donkey was born (mother Aphrodite).
*6th October 2009 - Catori was sheared for the first time!
*5th October 2009 - Eros arrived from Cape Town.
*1st October 2009 - Zahra and Sheut both had twins - Zahra had a girl and a boy and Sheut had 2 boys. They are all very strong and healthy!

* 7th September 2009 - A very sad day, Our old boy Perseus died, he will be greatly missed! He was such an angel and brought smiles to so many people.
*29th August 2009 - Misty (Mystical Europa) and Sophie (My blue heaven) arrived from Cape Town.
